Ravi Dubey is currently enjoying the success of his show Jamai 2.0. The show is the digital sequel of the popular show Jamai Raja. Recently Jamai 2.0 had received 10/10 ratings on IMDb and the lead actors expressed their happiness on their respective Instagram pages. Ravi Dubey had also revealed in an interview that he and Siddharth are an extension of each other and he has even used his own wardrobe for styling Siddharth. He has surely become a style icon for many of his fans as we have all loved Siddharth's handsome looks and his style.
So, we tried to find out how experience while shooting for Jamai 2.0 was, who is our Siddharth aka Ravi Dubey's style icon and which is the most expensive outfit his own and a lot more. BollywoodLife exclusively interacted with Ravi Dubey and here's what he said....
#How was your complete experience while shooting for Jamai 2.0? Any interesting moments from Pondicherry?
It was a fabulous experience. The brand itself was like a big brand and it was a life-changing experience for all of us. Then to re-associate with it and that too on such big canvas, on a bigger level it was a game-changing experience for us. We were all happy and excited to associate with it. We shot in the best locations in Pondicherry and while we shot we also explored Pondicherry. We used to get one or two-hour break in our 12-hour shifts and we were shooting at a resort. We explored the resort and also went to some great locations. It is a beautiful place to shoot and I am quite surprised it hasn't been used yet."
#You have used your own outfits for styling Siddharth...
Yes a lot of them. The designer Vinnie Malhotra and myself, of course with an overview from Shashant Shah who is our director. He suggested that if you open your wardrobe to your character you will open the character to you. And I had resonated to that thought as Siddharth has always been an extension of who I am and vice versa. So probably he would like to dress up in the same kind of attire. If you see the footage of the show, you will see some outfits you have already seen on my Instagram page. I may have worn it here or there. So whichever was the best from the lot, we selected and went ahead with it.
#You have become a style icon for many and now we want to know who is your style icon?
Sargun is somebody who has great aesthetic sense. She has got exceptional aesthetic sense when it comes to brands or clothes, shoes etc. Woh jab life mein ayi na toh mujhe pata chala ki kapde pehena bhi kuch hota hai. There is a thing called dressing yourself well. I used to buy shirts from the street markets those 100 to 300 rupees shirts and this was long after I had become an actor. There is no harm in that. You should were what looks good on you but I used to wear what does not look good on me. So Sargun came and made me realise that and after that, I changed a lot of my way of dressing.
#Who is the shopaholic between you and Sargun?
I am the shopaholic between us and I have more shoes than Sargun has! It was her to start with but after that she made be obsessed with shoes. Every time I think I should stop now, I am done with it. I need to change this about myself as this is not a good addiction. So, it's Sargun who started it but I am the one who is more obsessed with it.
#Which is the most expensive outfit you own?
It must be my shaadi ki sherwani. Generally, wahi sabse mehengi outfit hoti hai.
#Anything you regret buying?
Yes, I brought these really expensive pair of shoes and I realised I brought a size too small and did not wear them. So vo aaj bhi hai mere paas pade hue. I had got those from London and wo mai pehen nai paya. So vo pade pade hi purane ho gaye hai.
#One style trend that should make a comeback?
The hairstyles they used to have in the early 80s. Those longish hair, not very long, a little wavy, curly unkempt. I think that has a lot of character. And the beard, but not the beard that is doing. I mean a more natural, organic looking. Back in the 80s, I have seen a picture of my dad that used to be like that. So that combination of beard and longish hair, not very styled or anything.
# One style trend that should leave the style wagon?
One thing that should leave the style circle now is...I am also trying to eliminate it from my wardrobe gradually but I have been so habituated to it are those slim pants, cigarette pants. Meri bhi adat badi kharab hai... main vo suits ke sath vo pehen leta hu aksar. But I think I want to eliminate that now. I have seen some images, overall also and I think it irks me a little bit now. So I'll change that for myself also and I think they should leave the style wagon.
