A lot has been said and written about Good Newwz featuring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, however, there's little that we know about their characters and the film's storyline. The film was initially supposed to release in the month of September but was later pushed to December. Now, as the Raj Mehta directorial is inching towards its release date (December 27), details about the characters have been revealed (not officially though). According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Akshay Kumar will be seen playing South Delhi based car dealer and husband to Kareena Kapoor Khan. In the film, we will see the couple resorting to IVF technique to have a baby after seven years of their marriage.
Talking about Akshay's character in specific, a source informed the leading daily, "This character is stylish and rich, in a space, Akshay has not explored in the recent past. There is plenty of humour and drama in Kareena and his track." The report also states that Diljit and Kiara belong from a traditional Punjabi family, with the Shadaa star being a big fan of a popular Punjabi rapper. As far as Good Newwz's storyline is concerned, a source close to the development added, "It is a situational comedy revolving around these two couples from different cultural backgrounds and the procedure."
The Raj Mehta directorial also marks the reunion of Akshay and Kareena on the silver screen after almost 9 years. Talking about his working equation with Kareena, Akki had earlier told DNA, "Whenever we meet whether it's on a film set or an awards night our equation has remained the same. We are extremely fond of each other. Bebo and Lolo tease me about the amount of money I'm making and I tease them about having a flat in every building in Bandra. That's our fun banter."
And we hope, their new project, which is a comedy-drama around parenthood, lives up to audiences' expectations.
