Fans are super thrilled to see Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter come together for Ali Abbas Zafar's first production Khaali Peeli. Ali, who has delivered money-spinners including Bharat has taken Dhadak actor Ishaan Khatter and Student Of The Year star Ananya Panday apparently because the Maximum City-centric film is a fresh take on the romantic genre and revolves around young people and was keen to cast actors who are a big draw with youngsters. And while its nascent stage but even if the film doesn't get anything right, it has got this! Well, this and more because even Raazi actor Jaideep Ahlawat has hopped on board and will be seen playing a desi villain in the movie which will be helmed by Maqbool Khan. And guess what? Not only us but even Ananya Panday is also over the moon to be doing the film especially with co-star Ishaan Khatter. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Ananya confessed, "I had been dying to work with Ishaan ever since I watched him in Beyond The Clouds. I hope his energy reflects in my performance as well. He is such a talented actor. Both of us are young and it's a lot of fun with youthful energy on set." The starlet also revealed that she has been shooting for the film in night shifts ever since it went on the floors. "We are filming majorly at real locations all over Mumbai. If you see two crazy kids driving around in a taxi on the streets, you know it's us."
Ananya also spilled beans about her character and stated, "The character is completely out of my comfort zone as she doesn't speak the way I do in real life. It's interesting because I had to adapt to a new lingo and a different tone. We have experimented with my look as well. I had been juggling between the Pati Patni Aur Woh shoot and workshops for Khaali Peeli. Ishaan and I had a lot of reading sessions which helped me get comfortable. I carried the script along during the Lucknow schedule (of Pati Patni Aur Woh) too, and would rehearse my lines aloud."
When asked if she has ever travelled in a kaali peeli ever, she quipped, "I've travelled in autorickshaws as they're more readily available in the neighbourhood I live in." Reportedly, the film will be shot entirely in Mumbai, and besides these three principal characters, an ensemble is also in place. While talking about the movie, Ali had also said, "Khaali Peeli's process has been organic Maqbool, Himanshu (Kishan Mehra, co-producer) and I worked on the script for almost a year, and when we felt that it was totally baked, we took it to this enthusiastic young cast. I am happy that the studio is producing this film with us, apart from the other project that we are working on. We will soon announce our next big collaboration as well."
