The makers of Housefull 4 clearly sent the internet into a frenzy, all due to the number of posters they dropped yesterday. One by one, the character posters of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde from two different eras- 1419 and 2019, were unveiled yesterday. Talking about Akshay Kumar, the actor had to go bald (not literally) for his character, king Bala- Shaitan Ka Sala, from 1419. As far as his present-day character is concerned, Akki plays a London based barber - Harry. Out of these two roles, the actor had to put in a lot of effort for the former one as he was required to have a bald look.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the actor had to apparently go through two and a half hours of prosthetics session every morning to get the look of his character - perfect. A source close to this development said, "Several looks were considered for the quirky yet powerful part. Before taking the film on the floors last year, 3D models of all the characters were prepared and the team zeroed down on the bald look for Akshay."
Preetisheel G Singh, who has earlier worked on Ranveer's Khilji look for Padmaavat, was the one who designed Akshay Kumar's 1419 look for the comic-caper. And it was indeed challenging for her to do the same. She said, "He had to look absolutely bald, in a way that one can't even see the five o'clock shadow."
As far as the costumes of these actors were concerned, makers roped in Rimple and Harpreet Narula to work on the same. "The period portion of the film was shot at a palace in Jaisalmer and on a set in Mumbai in two schedules last year. Though Housefull is a comedy franchise, Nadiadwala was keen on getting authentic getups for the 1419 era, so he got a team that has prior experience of working on a period film," a source was quoted as saying by the leading daily.
Coming back to Housefull 4, it also features Bobby Deol, Chunky Panday and Rana Daggubatti in key roles. The Farhad Samji directorial is scheduled to release this Diwali. Meanwhile, stay tuned to this space for more scoops and updates.
